Matthew Nicoll, Cypher Consulting
Summary of Unix Experience
- Worked for two years (84-86) on a Motorola 68000 based
super-micro (DY-4 DSM 6816), with a Unix operating system,
as part of an Interact Research & Development Corp.team put
together to integrate hardware and software into a marketable
hydrographic computer called ISAH
(Integrated System for Automated Hydrography). As Senior Systems
Analyst I did the design work and supervised one other programmer
in the implementation of the Data Processing side of the project.
The work involved software system design, supervision of
another programmer, Fortran 77 coding, interactive graphics,
interfacing with C, and shell script coding.
- Used a Unix shell on my own PC for two years.
-
Ported (in 1996) two Fortran libraries to three networked Unix
workstations, running SunOS, OSF1 and HP-UX. This involved writing
shell scripts which would work on all three systems.
